Cell Pattern / Hatch for regions

With MapCAD Professional another 11 CAD features are available for MapInfo Pro.

Particularly MapCAD cells are an excellent opportunity to create symbols and one's own pattern or hatches. These cells are vector symbols managed in a library.

1) Pattern for Regions

Cells can be used as pattern for region objects. The orientation (angle) can be defined to the chosen axis (align). Cell distance and line distance indicate the spaces between single cell objects.

The orientation to the longest edge (border) refers to an object segment (between two nodes). By aligning to a chosen edge the reference object has to be selected on this appropriate edge.

The Offset value removes a single cell row to prevent a grid-like look.

2) Hatch for regions

Provided that a cell is a rectangle, it can be used for area hatching. The height of the rectangle indicates the hatching width, while length is irrelevant. Hatchings are defined by width and distance (line distance), which means they zoom and look alike on screen and printed.

The orientation (angle) can be defined to the chosen axis (align). The orientation to the longest edge (border) is related to an object segment (between two nodes). By aligning to a chosen edge the reference object has to be selected on this appropriate edge.
